Cedar Valley Persians
HISTORY

Cedar Valley Persians was started in November 1988 by myself, Lillian Tokarek, and my husband, Myron, for our only child, Jennifer (at that time age 12). We started with Silver Persians.
In 1991 we purchased a Black Male, "Bolero" to improve our silver line.

We showed mainly in The Internation Cat Association (TICA) and took Bolero to BEST CAT in the CANADIAN REGION 1992 as well INTERNATIONAL 14th BEST CAT 1992. Bolero was also a grand champion in CFA.

The following year we purchased a Tortioseshell kitten "Calypso" and campaign her in TICA to Best Kitten in the CANADIAN REGION 1993 and INTERNATIONAL 7th BEST KITTEN 1993. We had kept one of our Silver's who had been spayed, SCG, IW Cedar Valley's Nadia but Nice (CFA CH, GP) and in 1994 campaigned her in TICA to BEST ALTER in the CANDAIAN REGION 1994 & INTERNATIONAL 15th BEST ALTER 1994. Then in 1995, TICA changed their regions and divided up Canada so B.C. became part of the NW Region. This was already the format for CFA so we decided to concentrate now more on showing in CFA.

Jennifer graduated with honors from high school in 1994 and had to move to Vancouver to further her education. We decided to no longer house a stud male and keep only a few females.
GC Cedar Valley's Truffles (Supreme Grand Champion in TICA) a black Persian female known to all as "Buggy" is our foundation Queen and a carbon copy of her sire, "Bolero."
The year was now 1997 and Jennifer graduated again with honors from B.C.I.T. with a Diploma in Technology. She went on to finish her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.  Back on the home front in May of 1998 "Buggy" gave birth to a beautiful Tortoiseshell who became GC, RW Cedar Valley's Masquerade. She was so outstanding we decided to try her for a CFA Regional Kitten win. "Marqui" was shown in 9 drive to shows, all in the NW region (5 were in Portland, which was a 6 hour drive from our home in Canada) she was in 64 rings and made 40 finals to accomplish our goal and receive 17th Best Kitten in the NW Region for 98-99. Jennifer joined the firm of Ellis Foster, downtown Vancouver as an articling student.  On December 13th, 2002 she ended her studies as a successful UFE Candidate.  Now a Chartered Accountant we are happy to see her back showing our cats and kittens.  To see what is happening with Cedar Valley Persians today, click on the links below.
